What VS Code can do with DonorClerk.
Answer questions
Plain-English reports and lookups straight from your donor database.
Prepare gifts
Match cheques and payment exports to donors and suggest the fund and appeal.
Flag duplicates
Likely duplicate donors, with the reason and a link to your database’s merge screen.
Draft thank-yous
Personal drafts saved as donor notes after you approve. Nothing is emailed.
Connecting VS Code.
DonorClerk is added as a MCP server. We’re in early access: members get the connector URL and these steps when we launch.
- 1
Use the Install in VS Code link we send you. VS Code opens and asks you to confirm.
- 2
Open the chat in agent mode, ask about your donors, and sign in to DonorClerk when asked.
VS Code can’t show approval cards, so DonorClerk replies with a link to approve the change on donorclerk.com. Nothing is saved until you approve there. VS Code’s own “allow this tool” prompt doesn’t count as approval.
Use a different assistant?
